The MGA Super Sports project started in 1996 with extensive product development and testing completed three years later in 1999. Martin together with MGOC SPARES set out to take the MGA into the next millennium by incorporating numerous improvements and modifications to interest and delight every MGA owner. The car cruises and drives very comfortably, even in high-speed modern traffic. The modifications remain available from the MGOC SPARES product range today.
Engine: 2.2 litre balanced 18v MGB engine offset bored, stroked nitride hardened crankshaft, lightened flywheel, Stage 2 polished & ported cylinder head, Duplex vernier timing gear, roller rocker valve gear, high lift 718 camshaft.
Gearbox: 5 speed gearbox conversion kit.
Rear Axle: 3.9 to 1 ratio.
Tyres: 15” x 6J 185 x 65 R15
Carburation: Abingdon Special Tuning AUD505M HS6 1 ¾”
Ignition: 123 ignition distributor.
Starter Motor: High Torque.
Fuel pump: Solid state governed by a Fuel regulator.
Exhaust: Large bore stainless MGOC system with 3 branch tubular manifold.
Rear Suspension: Fibreglass rear springs with Koni dampers. Lowered ride height.
Front Suspension: Coil springs with 30% uprated lever arm dampers, modified Stub Axles.
Brakes: Drilled brake discs with uprated pads, Brake servo, Castrol Response brake fluid.
Cooling: MGC radiator, oil cooler, electric cooling fan, Forlife coolant.
Exterior Styling: Competition windscreen, competition valance, mesh grille, Monza style fuel filler, oval overtaking mirror, louvered bonnet.
